The Measure of a Man Response Paper
Sidney Poitier has amazing family members whose take care of him preciously. He was in a land called Cat Island. His childhood time was wonderful and adventurous. When he was a child, he climbed up the tress and the wasps bit him. Then he screamed and yelled while was walking to his house, and his mother helped him to put on some medicines. His mom flung him in the ocean until he learned how to swim in five years ago. As a small child, he wasn’t the same boy as the modern children because he did not get to watch television shows. He had not own a tricycle because that island does not include that machine. Moreover, his parents work in the tomatoes field. He encountered a conflict that he fell down a high cliff of an ocean plus he could not ascend back the surface. Later on, he managed to think in a positive way that he was in a small trap; he waved to find the way in the rocks beyond the surface. In this situation, he did not dare to call for help from someone because he frightened his parents might have been whipping him. He was trained to be independent. He was naively since he was a teenager that he did not aware of his race. He observed his mother disciplines and his sister kindness for granted.
I spent my childhood time in a country named Vietnam, and then I migrated to United States. I have been a playful little girl who always jumped up and down. I liked to explore around that I hopped on my sister’s friend motorcycle for excitement. The dog from my neighbor bit me, and my mother felt stunned that she took me to a doctor to give me a shot to prevent sickness. My folk did not provide an awesome toy such as roller coaster. I was in a danger moment that my head almost stuck in a window fence, but I was careful enough to pull my head back. My mother whipped me when I receive some bad grades and when I lost my erasers and pencils. My purity weakness is still easily believed people and easily being taken advantage. My sister often taught me some math and assisted me to study. I am fortunate to have them as my family members, and I know I owe them for the rest of my life.
